A Realtor Advises: Spring and Wet Basements
One sure sign of spring in Ontario is wet basements! Here are some tips I learned at a recent workshop on basements.

Tip #1: basements were never intended to be finished living space.

Tip #2: when you finish the basement, plan for future moisture problems.

Time was basements used to be left 'to cure' for a year or two before finishing, so cracks caused by shifting or other moisture problems would be noticeable and remedied before drywall was installed. Now builders offer to finish it for you immediately.
